How would you like to search for a museum pass?
When planning to visit one of our museums, please check the museum's website or contact them for details regarding any changes to their service hours. Additional procedures may be in place, requiring additional steps in your reservation process.
Only POB residents may reserve museum passes. If you work in the district but live in another district, please check with your home library for museum passes.
Please Note These Important Changes:
-Some exhibits may not be available
-Museums may limit the number of people who can enter at one time
-There may be a limit of how long you can stay inside the museum
WE HAVE TWO TYPES OF PASSES
1. Print on Demand Pass: Passes may be reserved for the day you wish to visit the museum and can be printed from home or at the library. The pass will only be valid for the Day of Use listed on the Confirmation Page.
2. Pick Up/Return Pass: Passes may be reserved for the day you wish to visit the museum. Return it up to 1/2 hour before closing the next day. (e.g. A pass picked up on Tuesday is due back by 8:30 pm on Wednesday.)
Museum Pass Lending Rules:
- Passes may be borrowed by POB School District Cardholders ages 18 or older with a current POB Resident Library card in good standing (i.e., the library card is not blocked due to overdue items, fines, or lost material).
- Pick Up/Return Passes MUST be returned to the Circulation Desk and cannot be left in the Book Drop.
- Reserve the pass for the day you wish to pick it up. Return it the next day before closing. (e.g. A pass picked up on Tues. Is due back on Wed. Night.) Remember the library opens at 11 am on Sunday when planning your weekend visits.
- Only one museum per family may be borrowed at a time. You must return a pass before borrowing another pass.
- A family may visit a particular museum once every 30 days with our pass. Pick Up/Return passes are to be returned to the Circulation Desk.
- Late charges are $20 per day. BE SURE THE PASS IS IN THE CASE. A $50.00 replacement cost will be charged for passes that are lost.
- Passes may be reserved up to 30 days in advance, online through our website, www.poblib.org, by telephone (516) 938- 0077, or in person.
- Call the museum directly for hours of operation, parking or directions. Each museum determines the rules and regulations governing the use of its museum pass. The museum pass may not provide admission to all exhibits at a museum.
Be prepared for unexpected museum closings and the possibility that a museum pass has not been returned on time or is unable to be used. Please confirm that the museum is open prior to your visit.
